How It Works

The Heating Element

The self-regulating, polymer heating element is installed discreetly under the shingles or roofing material.

The thin heating panel is lightweight, flexible and easy to install. It can also be cut to size on the job site, further enhancing quick installation.

Each individual power unit controls a specific section of the deicing system and steps down high voltage to low voltage (60 V or less). The individual control boxes are the source for monitoring the power and output to ensure safe, accurate, and optimal performance.

Snow Sensor (Activation Device)

The efficient snow sensor (activation device) will only activate the radiant snow melting system when needed, saving energy and operation costs. The sensor triggers the system's control unit when moisture is present and the temperature reaches to the preset temperature.

The RoofHeat heating element is embedded between two layers of vinyl to ensure that the panel is protected against UV rays and other potential physical damages.

The semi-conductive, polymer panel is lightweight, flexible and easy to install, and it can be cut to size on the job site. The flexible, durable element can be nailed or stapled through, making its installation easier than other systems. Because RoofHeat is so thin, costly and disruptive roof "build-ups" are eliminated.

	The RoofHeat panel is designed to melt snow and ice on entrances, walkways, driveways, ramps, patios, etc. RoofHeat is embedded between two layers of strong tarpaulin to ensure that the panel is protected against alkaline, salts and other physical damages. The system operates on 24 volts and is connected to a step down transformer. The heating element is self-regulating and cannot overheat, thereby using less electricity and does not wear out over time. The panel is light weight and flexible, easy to install and can be cut to size on the job site.
